It took an armed National Guard Unit to move the Post Office to a new location when the Post Office decided it shouldn't be located in a place where young people had to pass through a bar area to get the mail.

All this right on Route 66 an excellent place to spend the night at any one of three, count'em three, TV Parks. One is on Route 66, Newberry Mountain RV Park. Silver Valley Sun Club is within a mile (to the north) of Route 66. It requires a short trip off Route 66 1 mile then turn right and go about 5 miles down Silver Valley Rd. It is a clothing optional RV park with a 2 acre lake. Further north, about 3.5 miles then east 1 mile on Twin Lakes Rd is Twin Lakes RV with a 2 acre lake, clubhouse, camping & RV parking.
