Oh my..what a wonderful experience we had meeting David Williams. Such a
kind, dedicated man...and so brave..we met him around 8:30 Wednesday a.m.
where he dropped his truck off at the Deli and his pickup man took him to
Oatman.
David returned from the 20 mile trek from Oatman to Golden Shores in over
110 degree heat by mid-afternoon and we were ready with whatever necessities
he desired. An ice cold towel for his hot body and cold water, sodas, and
after he rested a minute he had a big fat combo Sub deluxe and brown
milkshake (chocolate). It was so neat to talk to him about his adventures
and all the country he has seen is truly amazing. He looked wonderfully fit
and lean dispite the wear and tear he has put himself through. He said this
was the best diet he had ever been on-The Route 66 diet....... walk 3000
miles and lose the weight (ha) no thanx!
Thank you for letting us be a small part of Davids adventure and it was
indeed a pleasure for all of us who met him.
We were disappointed in the townsfolk, only a few people showed up to greet
this marvelous man and I apologise for that~ but I tried to round them up
this morning reminding them that he was here..
